Miniature Poodles & Tiny Doodles

Poodles are the Einstein of the Canine world, or so they say. Looking for a pint size genius of a dog who learns quickly, travels with you effortlessly and enjoys learning new tricks ...consider a poodle or mini doodle.

Remember to read carefully and ask questions when researching your Poodle or Doodle puppy. Important questions to ask are; what are the temperament's of the parents, has the puppy received the proper socialization, what can I do as a new pet parent to make sure my [puppy is getting the proper mental stimulation.

A bored poodle can be a troublesome poodle, so while they do train quickly they also bore easily, check out pet parent advice page for tips and tricks on how to keep your Poodle entertained and stimulated.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel & Cavacross

To know them is to love them. The Cavalier is an outgoing little dog, considered to be social butterflies. They make excellent family pets, ideal for those seeking activity companions. Their loving and friendly nature can be infectious but they do require a home where they have ample human engagement and interaction. Prone to separation anxiety if not trained early on and have a tendency to believe they are too cute for any rules you might set. Patience and consistency along with tons hugs and praise help your Cavalier to grow into an affectionate loving balanced dog.

Japanese Chin

Originally known as the Japanese Spaniel, the Chin is unique and somewhat rare breed in Canada. Their demeanor is much like a cat. At times they can seem aloof, but they are also incredibly affectionate. They are quiet and rarely will you ever hear them bark. While it is advised to brush your JP daily their coat is not prone to matting. They are not considered a low or non shedding breed but are considered to be particular about their own self care and hygiene.

If your preference is to own a dog that has zero desire to do much else than nap and be cuddled this is your breed. Their petite frame and light weight can be deceiving under all that gorgeous hair. Prone to eye and breathing issues this page is dedicated to mostly Chin crosses. However you might find the rare purebred showcased here as well. Health issues are concern with this breed and rightly so, but their temperament is quite remarkable.

Mini Mutts

Many people are not particular about the breed or breeding background of their puppy. Understanding pedigree does not make for a better pet. What they are looking for ideally is a healthy well socialized pup that will grow to be less than 10 pounds. For them it's all about temperament, the environment the puppy is raised in and avoiding an undue vet bills within the first few years of their puppies lives.

Mini Mutts can be a combination of toy breed pups, these are your Teddy Bear puppies. Fluffy little critters that tend to look like puppies their whole life through.

Take for instance this puppy portrait... it's of a Cockapoo/Maltese cross.

If we are being honest there was no background testing done, no DNA samples sent in and no apologies for the existence of this puppy and her healthy litter mates. Her parents were selected because both were healthy, joyful little loves with amazing temperaments that  produced the most adventurous, sweet natured puppies and dogs. Easy to train, affordable to maintain and full of love in one compact adorable puppy package.

Retired Dams and Sires ect.

Raising puppies is great experience when you are passionate about animals, but ensuring that dogs never have to endure a day inside a shelter is also something that concerns many of us.

We don't just care about our puppies, we care about the health and wellness of our dams and sires and any dog in need of shelter. Whether it is an older puppy that never did find placement, a retiring dog from a breeding program or a pet in desperate need of rehoming, we are actively committed to helping toy breed dogs, puppies and pet parents alike.

If you are addiment that " Adopt don't Shop," is right for you, I encourage you to look at our available dogs here. This process is a little different compared to our more traditional puppy purchase programs. Dogs here are often taken in and assessment is done, vet care may be warranted and post op care is given. As admin of this website I usually facilitate the adoption of all the dogs on this particular page. Any rehab work, spay or neuter appointment scheduling and home visits are done by me, Brandice Primeau. In the past year or so I have had the privilege of taking in several dogs to the Whitecourt Vet Clinic, ensuring they were looked after during recovery and handled all the adoptions from beginning to end myself. I currently only work with toy breed placements but should you have a circumstance with a larger breed dog - I often can help in some compacity as well.

Details about each dog will be listed with their profile pictures. Date of births are often approximate, adoption prices are usually conducive to the cost of the dogs spay or neuter and general care for the period of their stay with me and may include transportation costs. I currently do not own or operate a registered shelter, as such dogs come into my home and are treated like part of my pack and family before going to their carefully selected forever homes. Much of my time and energy with regards to surrendered dogs or those in need of rehoming is voluntary.

I encourage home visits before and after spay/neuter procedures. Often even allowing full day visits or brief overnight stays before selecting applicants. Adoption prices sometimes work on a sliding scale depending on the situation.

Please be mindful that in some profiles it will list "Special Needs." This refers to a dog with a developmental or physical disability, ie; deaf, sight impaired, severe trauma, birth defect.
